Hotel Fateh Vilas is a pioneer in sustainable, ethical and responsible tourism. Built on a hilltop facing the city, the design of the hotel draws heavily from the rich Rajasthani heritage and culture, appearing no less than a palace.

Transportation

Udaipur is a world known tourist destination famous for its lakes, palaces and centuries old history.

For all guests:

  • We have negotiated a discounted rate with the Fateh Villas resort for those of you who want to come in early before the wedding (on the 6th) or stay back one more day afterward (on the 9th).

  • Once you RSVP, and you decide your travel and flight details, our wedding planner will be in touch to coordinate both your stay + airport pick up & drop offs.

For Domestic Travellers:

  • There are direct flights to Udaipur from some major cities (such as Bangalore & Delhi) - not all. So would recommend checking the best flight path beforehand.

For International Travellers:

  • We recommend all our international travellers to fly in to either Delhi or Mumbai and book an internal domestic flight to Udaipur Maharana Pratap Airport from one of these cities.

  • Our wedding date falls close to Diwali (which is on Nov 1st), so if you’re planning a larger trip you may want to come earlier and experience this in India.

Important Travel Info

Visas

If you do not have an Indian OCI, please start the application process for a visa. The link for the e-visa application is here. You can select either a 1 month, 1 year or 5 year tourist visa, and you may only be able to apply for a visa from August onwards. You may need to apply for a regular/paper visa via an appointment at the Indian Visa Application Centre or Indian Mission if you are travelling in with certain nationalities. If you require a letter of invitation from us, or any other documentation, to strengthen your visa case, please let us know.

The process can take a few weeks to complete, so please start the application at least 4-6 weeks before travel.

Here is a link to the Visa website and here are the steps to take:
1. Fill and Submit a Visa Application Form Online

If needed:

2. Book an appointment at one of the Visa Application Centres (ideally the earliest appointment of the day to avoid the queues)

3. Visit the Centre and attend your scheduled appointment - take along your printed application and documents, including your Passport

4. Have your Passport & Visa posted to your address or you can collect it from the Visa office

Weather

In Rajasthan the weather during November is very pleasant. The temperature during the day averages to 25-30 C & the nights are comparatively cooler (c.15-20 C) so we recommend bringing a shawl or blazer for the open-air evenings!

Travel Tips

  • Paper Copy of Boarding Pass for Departure: When leaving India, you'll need a paper copy of your boarding pass for immigration purposes, as they often stamp the boarding pass during the process.

  • Currency Exchange: It's advisable to exchange some currency to Indian Rupees (INR) upon arrival at the airport for immediate expenses like cab fares or small purchases.

  • Credit Cards: Major credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are widely accepted in India, but it's advisable to carry some cash as well since some smaller establishments may not accept cards or have minimum purchase requirements for card payments.

  • Local SIM Card: Consider purchasing a local SIM card or an e-sim for ease.
